29-year-old swashbuckling ‘Windies’ Rovman Powell has once again caught the eye with an explosive knock. In the ongoing United Super 50 Cup, Powell smashed an unbeaten ton at a strike rate of more than 100.

As Jamaica Scorpians were chasing a target of 319 runs in 50 overs against the Guyana Happy Eagles in the semi-final, Rovman Powell scored an unbeaten 105 runs in 92 deliveries, hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes.

Mercifully, the Scorpians managed to chase down the target in just 48.1 overs, winning the match by 3 wickets with 11 balls to spare. Along with Alwyn Williams, right-handed batsman Rovman Powell dug out a 103-run partnership for the 4th wicket, which proved vital in the run chase.

With this win, Jamaica Scorpians have advanced to the final of the CG United 50 Over Cup where they will face Trinidad and Tobago, who won their first semi-final against Barbados Pride. The final will be played on November 19 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound.
