The final Isle of Wight Summer Carnival this year saw thousands of people on the streets to witness what Ryde had to offer.
Yesterday evening (Thursday, September 1), visitors to Ryde’s premier summer carnival were treated to marching bands, fancy dress and incredible creativity from some of the island’s leading artists.
The main procession started at 6.30pm from the Esplanade and showcased the carnival royalty in the community floats, lighting up the streets with joy and colour.
Starting from the boating lake, the procession traveled along Dover Road, Park Road, Star Street and Union Street, ascending the Esplanade and dispersing from the George Street junction.
A firm favorite of the summer, The Queen’s Beasts, from London’s Platinum Jubilee Concert, wowed the crowds once again.
If you missed the fun, the carnival was streamed live on YouTube, with commentary by Joe Plumb.
