#TurksandCaicos, 13 December 2022 – The Office of the Deputy Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Shatelia Hall-Greene as Deputy Director of the Financial Transactions and Exchange of Information Unit, formerly the Exchange of Information Unit (EOI), in the Ministry of Finance, Trade and Investment.
Ms. Hall-Greene graduated with an LLB (Hons) from the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom in February 2009 and then completed a postgraduate degree from the then College of Law, now the University of Law in Professional Solicitor Studies in 2010.
She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in November 2010 and has been a member of the Turks and Caicos Bar since June 2011.
In 2013 she was employed by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions as a Public Prosecutor where she was the beneficiary of various training opportunities including her success in qualifying as an Assessor with the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force.
In 2019, Mrs. Hall-Greene advanced to the position of Senior Public Prosecutor at the ODPP, where she continued her training and became a trained restorative justice mediator through the Judicial Education Institute through University of the West Indies.
Ms. Commenting on her new appointment, Hall-Greene said:
“After nearly 10 years as a lawyer, I embrace this new role at the Ministry of Finance – Financial Transactions and Information Unit, formerly Information Exchange Unit, as a welcome change.
I see this as an opportunity to use my skills and knowledge to contribute to this Department and the Turks & Caicos Government going forward.
I see this as an opportunity for self-development as well, because I know change is inevitable and we need to push ourselves out of our self-proclaimed ‘comfort zones’ into areas where we can push ourselves to further expertise and talent.
With this in mind, I thank the head of the Civil Service and the Ministry of Finance for giving me this opportunity and I commit myself to the unit as much as possible.”
Deputy Governor and Head of Public Service, Her Excellency Anya Williams in congratulatory words for Ms. Hall-Greene said:
“Congratulations Mrs. Shatelia Hall-Greene for her appointment as the new Deputy Director of the Financial Transactions and Information Exchange Unit after the promotion of the former Deputy Director Mrs. Nasiya Misick-Dickenson to the post of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry. of Finance, Trade and Investments.
It is always gratifying to see civil servants advancing and moving up the ranks of the public service.
The Financial Transactions and Information Exchange Unit is responsible for the exchange of tax-related information between the Turks and Caicos Islands and its Treaty partners in accordance with agreed standards to help combat tax evasion and enhance the image of the TCI with our international tax partners and regulatory organizations.
I wish Ms. Hall-Greene every success in her new role and congratulate her on her well-deserved promotion.
