Our newsroom sometimes reports stories under the byline “Pioneer Staff Report.” This line is used when reporters rewrite basic news summaries that come from official sources, such as an email or press release that requires little or no reporting.
Other times, this line is used when a story involves multiple authors or when the story is formed by assembling previously reported news from different sources. If external sources are used, it is noted within the story.
