Cassino Cultural – Book, Music, Cachaça and Gourmet Week opens the year-end season with various events in the corridors of the three floors of Shopping Cassino Atlântico, between the dates 29/11 and 03/12.
Publishers and publications, music, children’s activities and gourmet tasting and cachaças reaffirm the country’s image as a tourist and cultural point and promise many surprises for visitors.
Starting the year-end celebrations and confirming the image of a touristic and cultural place in Rio de Janeiro, Shopping Casino Atlantico represents the event Cassino Cultural – Book, Music, Cachaça and Gourmet Weekbetween days 29/11 and 03/12where the visitor will find a diverse program and in the same place, with book presentations, literary meetings, live music, Brazilian cachaça tasting, three gourmet stands and events for children, in the corridors of three floors.
Publishers present at Cassino Cultural the innovations that were successful at Primavera dos Livros (Museu da República) and at FLIP, such as the books “For all generations to come – Severn Cullis-Suzuki” (Pingo de Luz), three children’s publications by Clóvis Levi – “I want my school back”, “O Puss in Boots from Seven Leagues and His Caraminholas” and “Rio Amazonas, Serpentes e Violinos” (Time Traveler) e “Joio & Trigo” (40th anniversary edition of Ibis Libris).
The performances bring MIA, chorinho, classics, with names like Antônio Guerra, Silvério Pontes, Joana Saraiva and Duo Madrid, and some students and teachers from Villa-Lobos School of Music, one of the main references in basic and professional music education in the country, which turns 70 years old. In addition, visitors will be able to be fascinated by duet of merchant and singer Regina Nobrez and guitarist Bruno Cardoso, singing hits in Italian🇧🇷 For children, many stories and activities on Saturday (3), while adults enjoy the best Brazilian cachaças with antipasti, cold tables, sandwiches, etc.

About Shopping Cassino Atlântico
Casino Atlântico was one of the casinos located on Copacabana Beach. During the 1930s, baccarat, camper, roulette, black jack and card games attracted Rio society and people from other cities (from Brazil and the world) to the country. The old Casino Atlântico building was demolished in the 1970s to make way for the new hotel. Many historical moments were experienced in Cassino, among them the concerts of Carmen Miranda, who was a sure presence in the country.
Shopping Cassino Atlântico was created about 40 years ago and houses, for the most part, antique shops and art galleries, which bring famous artists from Brazil and abroad. After the pandemic, the place was rediscovered and bet on diversification, with restaurants, cafes, events in its corridors, open to hotel guests and the general public. Sophistication and comfort, between the sea and art, in a place that will satisfy the most demanding!
