Former West Indies players Denesh Ramdin and Lendl Simmons have been named in a World Giants team to compete in the Legend League Cricket (LLC)).
Both players, who announced their respective retirements from international cricket in July, will play under the captaincy of Eoin Morgan, England’s 2019 World Cup-winning captain.
The World Giants team also includes Jacques Kallis, Herschelle Gibbs, Sanath Jayasuriya, Brett Lee, Muttiah Muralidaran and Jonty Rhodes.
The tournament involves four franchise teams, playing 16 matches in six cities in India, including Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi and Jodhpur.
Apart from the world giants, the Maharajas’ Indian team has also been named with Sourav Ganguly leading a team that includes Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Ajay Jadeja and Sreesanth.
The other two teams, the Lions and the Capitals, have not yet given their squads.
The tour begins on September 16 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
