SOCA Kings claimed their first win in the second edition of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board Dream XI Trinidad T10 Blast with a 12-run win over Steelpan Strikers at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, on Tuesday.

Soca Kings scored an impressive 116/4 in ten overs with Kirstan Kallicharan at the helm. He hit 52 off 26 deliveries, a knock that included two fours and five sixes.

Experienced Jason Mohammed chipped in with 22 off 12 balls.

Strikers skipper Imran Khan was the best bowler as he grabbed 1/15 in two overs.

The batsmen put up a valiant effort in their chase but were bundled out on 104/4 in ten overs.

Lendl Simmons hit two fours and four sixes in his innings of 43 off 20 deliveries and Adrian Ali hit 39 off 28 balls.

Fast bowler Shiva Sankar helped Soca Kings complete the win with 2/22 in two overs.

In the second game on Tuesday, the Scarlet Ibis Scorchers retained first place in the six-team tournament with a 21-run victory over the Blue Devils.

The tournament continues until June 24 with matches at noon and 2:30 p.m. of the day.
