By Aaron Humes: Carnival is officially back and the Belize Carnival Association has named the youth group Soca Massive and the senior group Soca Moca as winners of the 2022 Road March.
Soca Massive defeated Jump Street Posse with 924 to 900 points and Collet Royal Revelers came in third with 894 points.
Soca Moca – whose judging night was briefly interrupted by a shooting incident – edged out Mother Nature’s Creation for top honors by 1,015 to 1,001 points; Third place went to the Trenchtown Masqueraders.
The festivities passed largely without incident due to the increased Police security presence and a good time, we understand, was had by all.
