Claudia Almond, Shayla Hicks and Mia Owen from Tocumwal Public School will represent the Riverina team at the NSWPSSA State Girls Softball Carnival held in Sydney NSW this week.

Tocumwal Public School will again be well represented at the NSWPSSA Girls’ State Softball Carnival held in Sydney NSW this week.

Claudia Almond, Shayla Hicks and Mia Owen are all in the Riverina team.

The state carnival brings the best junior softball players from across the state to compete against each other for a spot on the NSW team.

The girls will be put through their paces as they play 12 games over the three days they are there.

The Tocumwal Lions Club will be holding a street stall this Friday to support the Railway Museum project.

Stop and say hello, buy a raffle ticket or some home baked goods from 9am outside the supermarket.

Mild2Wild Rod and Custom are bringing regular cruise nights to the streets of Tocumwal.

Cruises will take place on the first Wednesday of the month, starting October 5th.

Participants will meet at the Tocumwal Mild2Wild clubrooms on Morris St at 7pm, with the cruise starting at 7.30pm.

Participants will return to the clubrooms by 20:00 for a barbecue.

With the Victorian long weekend and the AFL grand final, Ingenia Holidays Murray Bend and Tocumwal Football Netball Club are holding a session to celebrate with sausages and Auskick.

The event will be held this Saturday from 10am at the barn at Ingenia (formerly Time Out Resort) at 19 Bridge Street, Koonoomoo.

All little footy players are welcome to join in for a kick at this free event, then stay and play in the pools and use the park facilities.

The Tocumwal Lions Club thanks the Tocumwal community for the donations of used glasses and stamps.

Over the past year, the Lions Club has collected 237 pairs of glasses, six hearing aids and more than 5.5 kilograms of postage stamps.

Glasses and hearing aids are sorted, cleaned, checked and distributed to those in need in Australia and overseas.

The stamps are auctioned off and the funds raised go to the Lions Mobility Children’s Foundation.

A collection bin can be found at the March IGA if you have anything you would like to donate to the cause.
