TAPPAN, NY – After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Blauvelt Sons of Italy, Rockland Lodge is back and bigger and better than ever to host their highly anticipated 11th Annual Italian Fairground Party and Carnival of Tappan Masonic Park. September 8-11.
The event typically draws thousands of people from across the tri-state area during the spectacular four-day celebration of all things Italian and has been recognized as the largest multi-day cultural event in Rockland and Westchester counties.
“This is a special party that you simply won’t want to miss. It’s not a block party, it’s not a street fair, it’s a whole party village with a slice of Italian culture unlike any other party you’ve had “. I’ve ever been,” said William Barbera, current president of Blauvelt Sons of Italy. “We are thrilled that the local community as well as visitors from afar have embraced our annual event as much as they have.”

FOOD, GUIDES, GAMES and SHOPPING
The feast features a wonderful array of authentic Italian food, everything from sausages and peppers to brick oven pizza made right on the spot, to a huge variety of pasta dishes. Italian desserts and pastries are always available, including zeppoles, cannoli and sfogliatella, Italian ice creams and ice creams. Beer and wine are available daily.
The festival also offers a large and spacious special area with carnival rides and games for all ages. Discount carnival wristbands will be available on Thursday. For adults over 21, this party features an indoor casino with jack and poker tables, as well as wheels of fortune. There will be a 50/50 Grand Prize draw at 9pm on Sunday night. The four-day festival is a showcase of live entertainment.
Celebrity Emcee for the 4-day festival, who also serves as Director of Entertainment will be local actor/director Paul Borghese for the 11th year in a row. Paul has appeared in films and TV shows such as Law & Order: SVU, HBO’s 61* as Yogi Berra, The Family and Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman among many others. In addition, Paul has directed Back in the Day with Alec Baldwin and Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn (HBO MAX), among other feature films, and co-produced with John Turturro BEYOND WISEGUYS; Italian-Americans and Movies’.He is also a longtime member of Blauvelt Sons of Italian’s Rockland Lodge 2176.

Other celebrities will also attend and appear at the party and some will receive OSIA (Order Sons of Italy in America) Arts Awards for their achievements as Italian-American actors, writers, performers, etc.
Participant’s previous recipients include, but are not limited to Armand Assante, Danny Aiello, Vincent Pastore, Joe Causi, Dominic Chianese, Vinny Vella, local actors Michael Rispoli AND Larry Romano and Italian-American writer Richard Veterre. This year the Special Honoree Italiano American Achievement Awards will be presented to the Actress/Artist Catherine Narducci(A Bronx Tale, The Irishman, HBO’s Euphoria, Godfather of Harlem, The Sopranos) and Lauren Mascitti(American Idol Star, Country Singer/Songwriter/Recording Artist visiting Tappan from Nashville, Tennessee to perform at this celebration for her 11th year in a row.
Time and place of the party
Festival hours are Thursday 5:00 pm – 11:00 pm, Friday 5:00 pm – midnight, Saturday noon – midnight; Sunday will begin with an outdoor Mass at 10:30 a.m. and the Festival will be open from noon to 9 p.m.
The festival takes place at Masonic Park located at 89 Western Highway in Tappan, New York.

Blauvelt Sons of Italy Rockland Lodge #2176, Order of the Sons of Italy in America, was established in 1966 with the goal of improving the image of people of Italian descent and has grown into one of the most active organizations in Rockland County and one of the most major Sons of Italy in New York State. The group, with members primarily from Rockland and Bergen counties, donates funds to a variety of nonprofits and charities from Italian Fest proceeds and offers scholarships to students throughout the year.
