Essex Eagles will aim for back-to-back wins at Chelmsford to gain momentum in their Royal London Cup campaign.
In a repeat of last year’s semi-final, Anthony McGrath’s side take on Glamorgan on what will be another hot day in Chelmsford.
We urge all viewers to take appropriate precautions to take care of themselves in the expected hot weather. You can bring plastic water bottles into the ground and free drinking water will also be available from the bar outlets around the ground. We also recommend the use of sunscreen and a hat, which will also be available to buy from the Essex Cricket Club Store.
Medics will be present on site and if you notice someone requiring medical attention, please inform your nearest guardian.
Opening hours of the gates:
The Royal London Cup has split gate opening times and will be from 9.30am for members and 10am for non-members via the main entrance on New Writtle Street or Tees River Gate, which is the closest entrance. Close to Chelmsford City Center and Chelmsford Bus/Train Stations.
Scheduled Game Time:
Drop off: 10:30am
First matches: 11:30-14:30
Second matches: 15:30-18:30
Member Admission and Match Day Tickets:
The Royal London Cup is part of Membership 2022 and members are required to scan their card at the gate.
We encourage supporters to buy tickets before the game to speed up your entry to the ground and also save you money with a £5 saving on adult tickets – £15 Adults (£20 on the gate), £10 Students / Young Adults (18-25) and Juniors £5 (U18).
These can be purchased online via the link below or by phone (01245 254010)/in person at The Cloud County Ground.
Tickets will also be available on the gates from 10am and this is a card sale only. After-interval tickets are available, priced at £12 Adults, £5 Students/Young Adults (18-25) and £1 Youth (U18).
Match day purchases:
The Cloud County Ground is a cashless ground, which includes ticketing at the gates, scorecards at the gates, and for food and beverage purchases in the Doug Pavillion and concourse areas. Find out more – here
Please note that the Essex Cricket Store is the only venue in the country that accepts cash payments.
Scorecards will be available from the Essex Cricket Store priced at £1.

Accessible parking:
Spaces are located at The Cloud County Ground and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Accessible seating:
Accessible seats can be found at the Hayes Close End of the ground with a wheelchair accessible platform located in Block One of the Tom Pearce Stand.
Guardians can enter the grounds with an accompanying ticket which is free of charge. This is on presentation to the Membership and Ticket Office or at the gate with proof of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for under 16s.
We can also accept a Blue Badge and Access card.
Accessible toilets:
Wheelchair accessible restrooms are located behind the main scorecard (Red Area), at the back of Doug’s Pavillion (Blue Area) and adjacent to Block 25 at County Corner (Green Area).
Before your visit:
We want to make sure supporters are settled before they visit the ground. COVID-19 safety measures have been lifted for the 2022 season, but spectators are welcome to wear face masks in the seating areas and while walking around the field if they wish.

Parking:
• Spectators traveling by car will need to find public parking close to the ground as there is no on-site parking available at The Cloud County Ground.
• High Chelmer will be open late for this match and closes at 8pm.
• Meteor Way will be open to members and will open three hours prior to the start of play and on a first come, first served basis.
Public transport:
• Chelmsford Bus Station is located on Duke Street, adjacent to Chelmsford Train Station, with links throughout the county. Alternatively, bus numbers 42 and 100, operated by First Group, stop at New London Road, which is approximately two minutes’ walk from the Ground, via New Writtle Street.
• Chelmsford railway station is operated by Greater Anglia and is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from The Cloud County Ground. Regular direct train services depart from Chelmsford to London, Stratford, Shenfield, Romford, Colchester, Ipswich and Norwich. Chelmsford is located on Liverpool Street on the Norwich Main Line.
Entrance to land:
Spectators can enter the ground via the Main Gate located on New Writtle Street or via the River Tees Gate.
Members:
• Members’ areas for the Royal London Cup include the Doug Pavement Pavilion, the Pavilion Benches, the Tom Pearce Upper Stand and the MDS Civil Engineering Upper Stand.
• Doug’s Lounge Pavilion is open to Members on presentation of a valid Membership card and accessible by entering the grounds through the main gate.
• Members are not required to book a match ticket and can enter by scanning their membership card at the gate. If you require a replacement card, please contact the Membership and Ticket Office prior to the match to arrange a replacement or this may cause entry delays for you and other spectators.
• Entry to this match is included in the 2022 Membership and encourages Members to arrive early to secure their desired seat. All seats for Royal London Cup games are not allocated and will be available on a first come, first served basis.
General public landing:
• Supporters who have purchased tickets can enter the ground by scanning the QR on your tickets emailed to you after your purchase. If you choose to print your ticket, please ensure that the match details (including name and seat details) are included as per the image below. Make sure you have your match ticket available on your phone or printed out so it is easily accessible for ticket scanning upon arrival. Please do not take a ‘screenshot’ of your QR code as it will not be read by scanners.
• Ticket holders for this game are welcome to sit in all areas of the ground with the exception of the Doug Stand, Pavilion Benches, Tom Pearce Upper Stand and MDS Civil Engineering Upper Stand.
• In the event of rain forecast on the day of the match, spectators may bring a small umbrella to the ground, but umbrellas with metal spikes are not permitted.
About Earth:
• Spectators are welcome to enter the pitch during the interval when instructed by the PA or a member of the Club’s management team. Please follow the instructions for the specific areas allowed to enter and please respect the playing surface. We encourage spectators to play on the court, but please use soft balls.
• Spectators should not attempt to bring glass or sharp objects onto the ground.
• Spectators are allowed to move behind the Doug Pavillion, but please respect the players’ area and walkway.
• The Club Shop and Membership and Ticket Office will be open to spectators for the duration of your visit.
• The Peter Edwards Museum and Library is located in the grounds adjacent to the Essex Cricket Store and will be open for the duration of the game.
• If you experience any anti-social or discriminatory behavior during your visit to The Cloud County Ground then please contact your nearest carer. Alternatively, you can email [email protected] or text “CROWD” including your stand and number to 60066.
Food & Beverage:
• The Doug Insole Pavilion will welcome returning members through its doors and serve a wide range of hot and cold bar drinks. A selection of snacks will also be available for purchase.
• Anne’s Pantry will be offering a selection of home cooked meals, cakes/snacks and drinks from their drinks kiosks located in Hayes Close End and River End.
They will serve a range of meals to suit all dietary requirements, including vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free, as well as children’s portions.
• Other refreshment kiosks include bar areas located at both ends of the ground at County Corner and Spinner’s Bar.
• Spectators may bring food and drink into the ground for this match. A limit of four cans of beer/lager or one bottle of wine per person, but strictly no glass or sharp objects on the ground.
• Please note that The Cloud County Ground is now a cashless ground for 2022, so please ensure you bring a suitable form of payment for your visit.
Leaving the ground:
At the conclusion of the day’s play, we ask spectators to leave the ground in a safe and patient manner. Stewards will be on hand to help guide you safely off the ground.
