Spice teases her new ‘Tape Measure’ video leaving dancehall fans reeling after the clip crossed 1 million views within hours on Twitter, prompting a response from Love and Hip Hop star Safaree.
Spice is called the Queen of Dancehall for a reason. She has the ability to send shock waves through social media due to her risqué approach. She didn’t let her fans down this time either, as her 23-second preview for her song “Tape Measure” left fans in a frenzy.
The singer of “Go Down Deh” has been teased for several days about the video of her newest song and she did not fail to present it. With the teaser alone, fans can already guess that Spice has something weirder coming up. Especially since she is seen in the clip literally measuring the eggplants of some male models.
“Good, this is for your eyes only. Tape Measure video drops this Friday,” she tweeted. The video is due this Friday, August 26, in the video she also uses her flamboyant style, where she is seen in a green wig and a body suit along with thigh chains.
The “Back Way” singer seems to be recapturing her newfound freedom after her split from Justin Budd, who she recently accused of trying to stifle her style by controlling her.
The model in question in the video is adult entertainer Midnight Erotic and it was his package that was being measured.
On Instagram, Spice explained that she asked him what the number was on the tape measure and he took off his pants.
The Grammy-nominated singer is giving fans a taste of her sophomore album, Emancipated. The song “Tape Measure” is the second single to be released from the album, which contains nine tracks and so far has no collaborations.

The first single to drop from the album was “Clap Clap” on July 22. This album will be her first release since parting ways with VP Records and will be distributed by Stealth Music and United Masters.
The clip has received mixed reactions from fans, with some male fans feeling repulsed by it, while female fans praised Spice for being innovative and taking risks. The final video will most likely be less graphic and more suitable for the YouTube audience. However, Spice has already achieved her goal of creating buzz ahead of the release of her music video and second album, Emancipated, which is due on Friday.
Reacting to the video that went viral, Spice wrote: “So I woke up to this. 1 million views in 11 hours on Twitter, I now have the most trending search on Google, Why unu broke the internet again like this Tape Video will drop tomorrow and EMANCIPATED ALBUM NEWS in TEACHING.”
Safaree, who recently made headlines for a leaked video, was one of the celebrities who reacted to the clip shared by Spice. “Spices new video really inspired me… my next video will have no boundaries,” Safaree tweeted.
