POEM is her way of expressing her emotions.
As an overseas Filipino worker (OFW), when she is alone and feeling bored, she escapes the moment by writing poems until they translate into a beautiful picture.
These are poems that inspired her to have a beautiful life as a mother, daughter and OFW.
Ven-Lyn A. Valdez is from Sanchez Mira, Cagayan Valley. She is the founder of the international literary platform Rhythm of the Heart Writers.
“Before living in Hong Kong, I was already an OFW in Singapore, so living with technology and automation is not new to me. I just live a simple life in my hometown and I decided to work abroad to discover new experiences, adapt and learn new culture and I realized that living and working abroad is more exciting and nice,” she said.
She wrote poetry books such as “Rhythm of the Heart, Vicissitudes of Life, Ritmo Ti Puso (Ilocano Dialect), Labyrinth of Life Collaboration with Adeyemi Kehinde and Adeyemi Taiwo, Canvas Of Bliss and Kiss Of Meadows- Collaboration with Engr. Albert Onwuchekwa, Anthology Poetry, Fragrant of Dews published by Mari Felices under MV Publishing, co-author of Domestic Violence Anthology, #1 bestselling book by Brenda Mohammed and many others.
Ven-Lyn has won many accolades and won first place in an elimination process contested by more than 200 contenders in different countries and was the 2019 Poet of the Year at Poetry City (Nigeria). She received a certificate and cash prize for that competition.
She was also awarded the 2020 Golden Pen Award at United by Ink (Malaysia), the Platinum Award at the Society of Literature Lovers (India), the Torch Award from the School of Arts and Poetry (Nigeria), the 2021 Nobel Prize for World Knowledge, Global Icon of Peace for the World Writers Union, Mahatma Gandhi Literary Award.
She won as the First Governor of the World Union of Writers through the nomination and election process. She is also a recipient of many awards from Bhutan, Peru, Malaysia, USA, Bangladesh, India, Nigeria, Philippines, Trinidad and Tobago and Italy, as well as a contributor to their newsletter.
She holds international positions being the 2020 up to now Poets League Administrator and Chief Jury, Like-Consultant, Filipino Young Writers Forum-Consultant and Moderator, Executive Host of Oxygen Pen Talk On Lit Program, Writers Voice Administrator United, Temple Designer and administrator of Impeccable Writers, Radio Karruba poetry contributor and much more.
In addition to writing, Ven-Lyn also enjoys sports and is an advisor to the Ball Busters Vteam, a women’s volleyball team.
