Saturday, October 22, 2022, around 8:45 p.m. three masked persons, one with a firearm entered the Laborie service station on Kennedy Highway Laborie and captured the two individuals (females) there.
The thieves took money and other items from inside and were leaving when special police in the area confronted them.
One of the thieves fired several rounds at the officer who returned fire, hitting a suspect.
Officers recovered the stolen items from the injured suspect and arranged for medical attention. The other two suspects fled.

The officer and the people at the gas station were not physically injured.
