A train is blocking several intersections between State Street and Nebraska Avenue in Salem Saturday evening and is expected to remain at the stop for several hours.
City officials warned drivers that the train would remain on the tracks until at least 9:30 p.m. Commuters were advised to use alternate routes such as Mill Street SE and Silverton Road as detours.
City officials did not immediately respond to questions about why the train was not running.
