Strand on the Air winds up summer with carnival of laughs

Grab your fried dough, your frozen slushie and your big cardboard bowl full of chips and head to the radio for the August broadcast of Strand on The Air. The “All’s Fair Special” can be heard on Sunday, August 28, at 5:00 p.m., by tuning into WRFR at 93.3 in Rockland or streaming at WRFR.org. After their broadcasts, these various radio shows are made available for streaming on the Strand Theater website at RocklandStrand.com and as podcasts.

Liz McLeod and the Strand Family Players will walk the midway with original comedy sketches, while Brittany Parker and friends stand in the music tent along with selected highlights from Midcoast Music Academy’s recent summer recital. All things were cancelled explores the wonders of the Beano, the perils of Back To Preschool and Every Reason To Love September, while at Abysmal Point, Ms. Grunden, Gertie Crummet, Edith Menhaden and Lilita wonder if they’ll ever make it off the top of a stuck Ferris wheel.

“It’s late summer radio entertainment at its most fun!” said Strand, in a press release.

This show is presented with a recording by the Strand Theatre.
