Anyone who lives in Florianópolis, or has visited the city, has probably seen and photographed the facades and walls of buildings with wonderful paintings that are very difficult to take your eyes off. Since this artistic language was encouraged, through the project called Street Art Tour, works in strategic points have given importance and projection to the city and also to the work of these different artists. Now, with more artistic interventions underway, the Capital of Santa Catarina follows a trend already a reality in some parts of the world, where art is incorporated into the daily life of the population.
To promote the production of urban art and reinforce the importance of this artistic language as a cultural expression. This is one of the objectives of the Street Art Tour, which emerged from the partnership between Produtora Studio de Ideias, partners Arturo Valle Junior and Marina Tavares and urban artist Rodrigo Rizo. The Street Art Tour Festival will carry out, this November, several artistic interventions at points in the east-center region of Florianópolis. The dialogue between the Florianópolis scene and urban art did not start now. The capital is home to a large number of artists associated with urban art culture. In the same movement, there are initiatives that aim to integrate the inhabitants of the city in the space they occupy.
artistic connections
The Street Art Tour 2022 festival proposes the connections between people and their surroundings, being a direct link between artistic creation and its purpose as a transformative agent. Different audiences and perspectives are contemplated by urban art, which provokes questions and feelings in individuals of different ages, races, genders and social classes.. Thus, the festival seeks to realize the development of actions that include artistic intervention as a way to appreciate urban art and to multiply the connection in the daily appreciation of this type of manifestation in public spaces and circulation in our city. In total, there are about 50 artists involved in 20 new works. In this format, the festival will be the starting point to contribute through artistic interventions to the requalification of the Eastern Center of the city of Florianópolis, which will become a open air gallery. Other cities in the world also have regions that are a reference for their emphasis on urban art, such as Beco do Batman, in São Paulo; Wynwood Walls, in Miami; Bristol Street Art, in Bristol and The Bushwick Collective, in Brooklyn, NY. The event will produce simultaneous interventions throughout the region in small and large format murals, graffiti, workshops, artistic experiments, documentary screenings, musical presentations and Hip Hop Battles and guided tours of the Historic Center together with Guia Manezinho, Rodrigo Stupp. According to Arturo Valle Junior, coordinator of the event, “we seek to appreciate public spaces and within a diverse audience, we want to connect those who are interested in urban art and those who do not know it; those who have access to art. spaces and museums and those who never imagined themselves inside one, those who know what art is and those who have no idea that they are in front of one every day on the streets of their city”. Tour Festival of Street Art is sponsored by Coral Tintas, the Municipality of Florianópolis – Department of Culture, Sports and Leisure, the Florianópolis Franklin Cascaes Cultural Foundation and the Florianópolis Municipal Culture Promotion Law. Cultural support is provided by APCEFSC, Brognoli Negócios Imobiliários, CDL Florianópolis, Elite Hotel, Cambirela Hotel, High Tech, Corporate Park, Fiori Empreendimentos, Hotel Valerim Florianópolis, Santa Rita Materials Elétricos and Unicred Florianópolis.
