A criminal charge of Lascivious Offenses (Article 133 of the Penal Code) was filed this Thursday against Carlos Igartúa Laguer, 57 years old and a resident of Camuy, who worked as an agent of the Puerto Rico Police, assigned to the Division of Sexual Crimes. of the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of Arecibo, for suspected events that occurred during the month of February 2022.
According to the police report, it results from the investigation of Sergeant Margarita Burgos Rosario, of the Sexual Crimes Division of Utuado CIC, that Igartúa Laguer allegedly committed the crime against an adult woman while exercising her duty as an agent of the Order. Public in Arecibo.
This case was consulted with the prosecutor Mariela Rullán Declet, of the Utuado Prosecutor’s Office, who instructed the filing of the aforementioned charge. The evidence was presented before Judge Melissa Santiago Núñez, of the Utuado Court, who determined the cause and set a bond of 40,000 dollars.
Igartúa Laguer posted the bond shown and was released until a preliminary hearing scheduled for September 16, 2022.
