Taiwanese entrepreneurs look to Mexico for business expansion

The trend of Taiwanese companies reducing their presence in mainland China has been more visible in recent years, although the COVID-19 pandemic reversed that trend.

Investments in China by Taiwan-based firms reached $11 billion in 2015, but by 2019 that figure had fallen to $4.2 billion.

By 2021, it managed to recover to $5.9 billion, growth attributed to China becoming more attractive to invest during the pandemic, according to data from China Macro Economics.
