Rashtriya Janata Dalleader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday shared a video on Twitter, where he can be seen playing cricket at his official residence in Patna with his staff members. Tejashwi, however, had played the game professionally for a while in the past in anticipation of a career, but the reason for returning to a makeshift cricket pitch this time is perceived differently by netizens.
Dressed in a t-shirt and shorts, the leader of the opposition in the Bihar assembly seems to have taken Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s advice to heart as the latter reportedly advised him to lose weight and shed his police good looks .
Thus, Tejashwi can be seen playing some beautiful strokes on the medium-paced deliveries directed at him.
“Life or game, you must always play to win. The more you plan in your head, the better you perform on the field. The pleasure of trying your hand at bat and ball after ages. It’s made more satisfying when the driver, cook, sweeper, gardener and janitors are your playmates and eager to hit you and send you away,” the post’s caption reads.

Prime Minister Modi, on July 12, was in Bihar to inaugurate the Bihar Bhavan Memorial Column in the state assembly and had a conversation about Tejashwi’s health. “Wazan Kam Karo (lose weight),” the prime minister reportedly told 32-year-old Tejashwi at the ceremony where the two leaders had a brief health chat.
Interestingly, Tejashwi Yadav has a vast experience in cricket as he was part of the IPL team Delhi Daredevils in 2008-09. He was also selected for the state level cricket team of Jharkhand in 2009. The leader gave up his cricket career in 2013 and joined politics.
