The secret to getting 2k, 5k and 10k retweets
People spend hours on Twitter thread links. Because it is an essential part of a thread.
I’m going to show you how to write the best thread hook today.
I analyzed 1000 thread hooks from my Tweet database.
(Don’t worry, you’ll see my Twitter database soon)
After learning the Threads hooks, I picked my 10 favorites. I have also provided examples so you can reuse them.
Let’s begin…
I call this apparent value because this type of thread comes from people who have done it. (this can be a statement of something you have achieved)
People are hooked after reading the first statement. Who doesn’t want to read how who made $120 million in online income right?
Next, he breaks down what you’ll get from this thread, which is the tactic he used.
Example:
I made over $200,000 last year selling a 20 page PDF.
Here’s how I did it.
Share a life event that you successfully pursued. This does well if your event connects with more people in your niche.
In this case, the event is, “don’t have a CS degree” followed by what you can get from the subject. This is why college dropout topics go viral.
Example:
I failed my computer science degree, then retired from no-code development.
I now have 3 SaaS products giving me an MRR of 10K.
Here are all the lessons I’ve learned throughout the process.
I don’t think this hook could be simpler than this, and it came at the best time. because everyone understands that if you need to grow your audience on Twitter, themes are the best tool to use.
Make sure you deliver something that resonates with your audience.
Example:
How to become a top paying email marketer for e-com brands.
Starting with a blood statement that most people want to know is one of the best ways to start a thread.
In this case, “MasterClass used SEO to build a $2.7 billion education.” who doesn’t want to read, especially if you’re an SEO person?
So you can structure this with a well-known person or brand or an event.
Example:
“ Person A closed three deals worth more than $60,000 using just one thread.
Here’s how:”
I am sure you will read good topics from your favorite people. Why not give them a shout out in a curated thread like this?
I used to submit at least one curated topic per weekend, they will be good pieces of content I found that week.
But even for curated topics, there is a structure for writing.
As you can see from the thread below, the first sentence states his authority, “I have a master’s degree in finance” then comes what you have done, or achieved, followed by what you can get from this topic.
Example:
Made $100,000 last year selling digital products.
Here are 10 themes that will help you do the same.
Who doesn’t want to get rich right?
Building wealth, earning or health and creating relationships are the top three topics that people are interested in. If you can write well on these topics, it will be good.
Example:
If you want to win the heart of every girl you approach, read this:
If you are writing a list of steps for completing a process, you can easily implement this. This will make the reader want to read more about the points you mentioned.
As you can see from this thread, the first sentence is the process he went through to get 11k subscribers to his newsletter. Next come the highlight tips, which he called game changers.
Example:
10 Lessons I Learned To Grow My Youtube Subscribers To 100k.
Lessons 6 and 9 are more than a $1000 course.
Subject:
If you can bring a surprising number with a familiar figure is the best case. In this case, LeBron is a household name, and the number is that he earned $346 billion from NBA contracts and $700 million from his off-court deals. Who does not want to know about these investments?
If you can bring a story like this and deliver it well, you will reap amazing benefits.
Words are fine, but if you can add visuals to give it deeper value and make others think more, you’ll get more engagement.
As you can see below, in this visual, Alex showed how you can handle all your Twitter tasks for a day in just one hour.
So if you can include visuals to break down complex topics or issues into simple solutions, you’ll do better.
For writing these types of topics it is best if you can include something you have done.
In this case, Wiz shares how he gets clients from Twitter to run his agency. The process he’s disrupting is bringing in people from Twitter to run his agency.
Example:
I wrote 1 weekly newsletter, 2 topics, 5 medium posts, and 5 blog posts per week while working my 9–5. I needed 1-2 hours a day.
Here is my complete process to achieve it.
This is the bottom of the top 10 types I found.
But now you have noticed that there are many common styles.
Styles in the sense of how they arranged the hook.
So now I will give it to you the most effective style I have found.
I have divided the hook into 3 simple parts.
- authority
- process
- Submission
Here is an example:
In 8 months, I built a 6-figure e-commerce brand.
I made mistakes that cost millions.
Here are the lessons I learned from those mistakes.
Of the 10 topics above, 1, 5 and 8 fall into this style.
This is the end of this post.
I hope you enjoyed it.
