The August carnivals in Tulunggung and Lamongan brought casualties. Each victim died differently.
In Tulunggung, a carnival participant suddenly collapsed and died while dancing. Tulunggung Police Public Relations Chief Eptu Mohd Anshori said the incident happened at 12.45 WIB, Legen Hamlet, Nyawangan Village, Sendang, Tulunggung. The victim is a local NP villager (32).
“Initially, the victim attended a carnival parade in the village disguised as an Indian tribe. The victim and her companions followed the sound,” said Anshori. datacastMonday (29/8/2022).
The victim suddenly fainted while dancing. Several friends of the victims immediately stepped in to help.
“The victim fell in front of SDN 1 Nyavangan. She was then taken to the Nyavangan village headman’s house, shortly after which the victim died,” he said.
“There are no signs of physical violence or criminal acts. This victim died of illness, the information was a heart attack,” said Anshori.
In this case, the internal examination or autopsy of the NP’s body was not performed. The family claimed to have accepted NP’s death.
Anshori said: “Because there were no signs of violence and the family did not request an autopsy. So, after the investigations, we handed over the victim’s body to the family for burial.”
Meanwhile in Lamongan, a carnival participant died after a diesel engine hit his head on the steering wheel. The victim Muneeb (34) is a resident of Banjarmadu village, Karanggeneng.
“It happened around 1pm on Sunday (28/8), the victim attended a carnival activity to celebrate Indonesia’s 77th Independence Day in Banjaramadu Village, Karanggeneng,” said Police Public Relations Chief Lamongan , Ipda Anton Crisbiantoro Told.
The victim was sitting on the steering wheel where the diesel engine was. Remembered and moved, the victim sat back at the wheel.
“The victim sat on the tire where the diesel engine was, although the diesel engine was still running at the time,” Anton said.
“That’s when suddenly the holster, wrapped around the victim’s neck, entered the flywheel of the diesel engine,” said Anton.
As a result of the steering wheel being wrapped in diesel, the victim was pulled over and the victim’s head collided with the spinning wheel of the diesel engine, causing the victim to die on the spot.
Upon seeing the incident, witnesses who were about to leave for the carnival contacted the head of Banjaramadu village and proceeded to approach the Karangageneng police.
He said that the victim died on the spot.
