Kes the Band will headline the launch of the Tobago Carnival tomorrow, September 10.
The inaugural three-day event titled Bago Jam – Revel in Paradise is the official public launch of the Tobago Carnival.
Bago Jam promises to marry all the elements of carnival with a cocktail of music, mas, steel and culture.
As Trinidad and Tobago celebrates 60 years of Independence this year, Bago Jam will be a gift to all from the Tobago House of Assembly.
“Bago Jam is our public launch of the October Carnival 2022. Following our hugely successful media launch, THA felt it necessary to ensure that the public’s appetite for the festivities remained high. We can’t imagine any way best to start it off as we welcome you all to Fun in Paradise!” said Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation Secretary Tashia Grace Burris.
Kes The Band’s captivating and unique style and electrifying music will take center stage as they break away from their hugely successful Liki Tiki World Tour.
Also coming to bring the energy are soca superstars Water Lord Iwer George and 2021 Soca Monarch winner Farmer Nappy.
To serenade us with what has been popularly dubbed the ‘Carnival Anthems of Tobago’ are songbirds Shurwayne Winchester, Adana, Zan, Kernel Roberts, Sekon Sta and Chingee on the ‘Scarborough Riddim’.
They will all be supported by the prolific A-Team.
Tobago’s talent will also take center stage with acts such as Johnny King, Stephanie Joseph, Shameeka Denoon, Leslie Ann Elis and D’Zian.
To kick off the show, a cultural presentation will set the tone for the Bago Jam Concert.
The Bago Jam will be held at the Shaw Park Cultural Complex Car Park, Scarborough Tobago and the show will start at 5pm and run until 1am.
In celebration of the 60th anniversary of Independence, admission is FREE!
