1) A look at the 2022 Monmouth County Fair – (FREEHOLD, NJ) — The best part of summer is almost here! The Monmouth County Fair opens Wednesday, July 27 and runs through Sunday, July 31. Held at the East Freehold Showgrounds, Kozloski Road, Freehold, this annual event is presented by the Monmouth County Board of Commissioners in cooperation with the Monmouth County Park System and the Monmouth County 4-H Association. 2) The 15th Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival that will take place over two weekends – (NEWARK, NJ) – The Lincoln Park Waterfront Cultural District (LPCCD) has announced that the official 15th annual music festival will return over two weekends from July 27-31 and August 5-7 with a wide range of music genres including Gospel, House, Hip-Hop, Soulful Alternative/Mash Up, Reggae, Dancehall sounds and the Latin/Hispanic Caribbean diaspora.
3) Passaic County will hold a picnic on Sunday to celebrate the Passaic County Park System – (PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ) – Passaic County and Friends of Passaic County Parks, Inc., in cooperation with the Olmsted National Parks Association, will host a picnic at the Rocky Hollow Picnic Area at Garret Mountain Reservation on Sunday, July 31 . This year marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Frederick Law Olmsted – author, journalist, public official, urban planner and founder of American landscape architecture. Olmsted and his successor firms designed thousands of landscape and park projects across the country. In 1927, the Passaic County Park Commission hired the firm of Olmsted Brothers to design the Passaic County Park System.

5) Newark will host the Annual Latin Festival on August 21st – (NEWARK, NJ) — Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka, Deputy Mayor for Community Engagement Jacqueline Quiles, and the Office of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery will host the Annual Latin Festival on Sunday, 21 August, from noon to 10 p.m., on Bloomfield Avenue between Lake Street and Clifton Avenue, in Newark’s North Ward. The event is themed Newark Forward Minus Violence Equals Tour Future.

9) PHOTOS from “It Shoulda Been You” at the Old Library Theatre – (FAIR LAWN, NJ) — Old Library Theater (OLT), the Fair Lawn Recreation Department’s resident theater company is currently presenting the Broadway musical, It must be you, at the Fair Lawn Community Center. The show will run over two weekends, starting Friday, July 29 and running through August 7, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm. 11) What’s Filming in New Jersey: AMC Spin-Off The Walking Dead Starring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan – (NEWARK, NJ) — AMC’s The walking dead franchise expands its universe to the Meadowlands Arena and North Jersey locations for its upcoming spin-off series starring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. This is the fifth series in The walking dead franchise and will follow Maggie (Cohan) and Negan (Morgan) as they explore a post-apocalyptic New York City. Eli Jorné, who writes and co-executive produces the original series, will serve as showrunner, while Scott M. Gimple, chief content officer of The walking dead franchise, will oversee the series. Cohan and Morgan also serve as executive producers. The six-episode first season is expected to debut on AMC and AMC+ in 2023.

This week’s sounds…7/28/22 – “The new single is ‘a13’ and it’s the first track on the new album, ‘Elevator’ and ‘Elevator’ is my 25th solo album, so it’s kind of special for us; we play “a13” in the show as well as some other stuff from “Elevator”. There’s actually nine things in the show that we’ve never played before, but there’s also a lot of the power trio material that people like, like the King Crimson stuff and some other good songs and there’s an acoustic section where I an acoustic guitar solo and voice for about 20 minutes and take some questions and answers from the audience. So it’s a very well-rounded show with a lot of different things.”

15) Antoinette Montague’s experience appears in Newark and Morristown – (MORRISTOWN, NJ) – The Antoinette Montague Experience will be in concert at the Newark Museum of Art and the Morris Museum’s Bickford Theater in July. Along with pianist Danny Mixon, bassist Melissa Slocum, saxophonist Gene Ghee, dancer AC Lincoln and special guests, vocalist Antoinette Montague will appear in outdoor concerts in Newark on Friday, July 29 and in Morristown on Saturday, July 30.
