Toronto Caribbean Carnival postpones Carnival Flavours

Carnival Flavors, the closing event of Toronto’s Caribbean Carnival, has been moved to late August.

or I tweet from the festival’s Twitter account on Sunday said refunds would be given to anyone who bought tickets, promising more details to come.

Carnival Flavors was scheduled to take place on Sunday afternoon at Stanley Barracks at Hotel X. The event will now take place on August 27 and 28 at Yonge-Dundas Square to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Trinidad and Tobago’s Independence Day, which is on August 31.

The event is meant to showcase Caribbean food and drink in a final burst of festivities to cap off the carnival, which drew thousands to Toronto’s waterfront earlier this weekend. Carnival highlights have included a rainbow of colorful costumes, live music and 10,000 masquerades along Lake Shore Boulevard.

The annual festival marked its return this weekend after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
