TREAT STREET CARNIVAL SCHEDULED FOR HALLOWEEN MONDAY IN DOWNTOWN HENDERSONVILLE
Trick-or-Treat! Monsters, ghosts and goblins will be parading through downtown Hendersonville this Halloween Monday (Oct. 31), from 5 to 8 p.m., at the family-friendly Treat Street Carnival. Candy sponsor Ingles Markets has generously provided extra candy for downtown merchants to hand out.
The event, which combines Friends of Downtown Hendersonville’s Trick or Treat Street, Henderson County Parks and Recreation’s Halloween Carnaval, and Hola Carolina’s Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration, will include a costume contest, Monster Mash Sound Extreme party DJ. , children’s area sponsored by Biltmore Church, a variety of inflatables and performances in the spirit of Día de Los Muertos.
Trick-or-treating with downtown merchants begins at 5 p.m. along Main Street from Allen Street to Sixth Avenue. In addition, local organizations will set up donor booths for treatment in the 400 and 500 blocks.
The costume contest and Monster Mash will be in the 100 block across from Historic Courthouse between First and Second streets along Main Street. Inflatables can be found in the 200 and 300 blocks. Hola Carolina will be in the 100 block between Allen and First Avenue.
Costume contest registration begins at 5 p.m. on the courthouse and judging, which includes age categories for infants ages 3, 4 to 7, 8 to 11, 12 to 15, and 16-plus and family/group competitors will begin at 6:00 p.m. , with the pet category to be judged first.
