Trinidad and Tobago won their third gold medal of the Commonwealth Games on Sunday, with Jereem Richards leading them to an emphatic victory in the 4x400m.

The team of Che Lara, Michael Cedenio, Richards, Dwight St Hilaire finished the race in 3:01.29. It was Richard’s second gold of the Games. On Saturday, he also claimed the 200m title in a Games record 19.80 seconds.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago took to his social media handle to salute. He mentioned, “CONGRATULATIONS TO Jereem Richards, Dwight St. Hillaire, Asa Guevara and Machel Cedenio 4×400 GOLD relay team.”

Meanwhile, Botswana beat the silver media by finishing in 3:01.85. Meanwhile, bronze was won by Kenya, which ran 3:02.41. Jamaica crossed the finish line in fourth place, but was disqualified.

Trinidad and Tobago has so far won 3 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and more commonly known as Birmingham 2022, is an international event for members of the Commonwealth of Nations that takes place from 28 July to 8 August 2022.
