Trinidad and Tobago: India in Trinidad and Tobago (High Commission of India, Port of Spain) – ITEC Day 2022 was celebrated by the High Commission of India, in collaboration with the Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Cooperation on 30 September 2022, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and CARICOM Affairs of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr Amery Browne, gracing the occasion as Chief Guest.

Also present were Rita Toussaint, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and CARICOM and Joel Martinez, Mayor of Port of Spain.

The message from Dr S. Jaishankar, India’s Minister of External Affairs for Development Cooperation, was shown. ITEC graduates from Trinidad and Tobago participated in person and relived the experience of their visit to India, while those from the Commonwealth of Dominica and Grenada shared virtually their perspective of pursuing ITEC courses.

Friends of India and officials of the Indian High Commission and the Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Cooperation also attended the commemorative event. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Indian Diplomacy, Ministry of External Affairs, DPA Division, Government of India, ICCR, MGICC Trinidad, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and CARICOM Affairs Port of Spain, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Affairs and Diaspora Relations Roseau , Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development St Georges.

The High Commission of India, Port of Spain and Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Cooperation also paid tribute to the Father of the Nation of India on his 153rd birth anniversary on October 2, 2022.
