Trouble For Twitter As App Reports Losing Out On Its Most Active Users / Digital Information World

Twitter was once considered home to some of the most opinionated and chattiest tweeters out there.

Heavy tweeters were reserved for such individuals who want to speak their minds on the app, but a new report proves how the platform is losing out on such individuals.

Yes, heavy chirpings are nowhere to be seen and their numbers are dwindling with each passing day.

Those who once considered the app as their home are not coming back, and it has to do with how their interests change from what they saw in the past.

The new report comes to us thanks to Reuters. He says those who used to be defined as users who logged into the site on a daily basis and tweeted up to three times a week are now gone.

While news may not seem like a big deal to you right now, the reality is that they were a very valuable part of the app and accounted for a small portion of the number of monthly active users there. These generated about 90% of the tweets seen on the platform and also increased the app’s revenue globally.

We saw the first decline in such activity occur during the pandemic era. Even those topics or topics that used to be openly discussed are no longer being discussed. It’s really unclear why this is happening.

People who enjoyed tweeting in the past have been observed leaving their accounts empty. Additionally, those people who remain active tend to lean more towards issues that the app was never famous for in the past. So, as you can see, user interests also change over time.

Users used to love to talk about the world of news, politics and entertainment. Today, people are extremely interested in issues such as fashion and the world of celebrity.

Other shocking topics that are really trending on the app include cryptocurrency and NSFW content.

So one conclusion that can be drawn is that people are leaving the platform because the things being talked about no longer serve their interests. Ok, so the report from Reuters doesn’t acknowledge or accept any of this.

But it’s not all bad about the app. As recently mentioned by the app representative, Twitter is busy attracting different users every month and thus, the number of new users is definitely increasing.

By now, we know that old users are leaving and new ones are coming. But where did the heavy tweets go?

Well, one app user says that the huge drop in activity related to topics like the world of celebrity and the world of fashion has to do with apps like Instagram and even TikTok.

In the past, the world of e-sports was leading personalities who were trending among those regular users of the platform. But today, activity has shifted more towards video-friendly websites like Twitch, YouTube, and even TikTok.

Even when it comes to the world of news and current affairs, popular video app TikTok is taking a giant lead.

At least a third of those people who use apps like TikTok say they’re getting all the news and alerts they need through that app, so why switch to another?

But you will be intrigued to learn how the consumption of topics like news remains the same on various other platforms across social media.

So that’s the study of the report, and we’re curious to see if Twitter will actually do something about it.
