Twitter Circle available for all users: How to share your Tweets with select people | Tech Tips

Twitter on Tuesday announced its new feature called Twitter Circle. Like Instagram’s close friends feature, Twitter’s newly launched circle gives you more control by letting you create a smaller group to share your thoughts. There can be up to 150 people.

“Twitter Circle is a way to send Tweets to selected people and share your thoughts with a smaller crowd,” the company says while explaining the feature, adding “you choose who is in your Twitter circle and only individuals that you’ve added can do this. reply to and interact with the Tweets you share in Circle.”

The feature gives you the power to choose who will be in the Twitter Circle, and only the people you’ve added can view, reply to, and interact with the Tweets you share in the circle. People in your circle will see a green badge under Tweets sent to the group, and these tweets cannot be retweeted. Twitter started testing the circle on Twitter in May 2022 to a limited number of people on iOS, Android and the web. The feature is now rolling out to everyone worldwide. The company says this feature will eliminate the need to have secondary accounts while giving it the flexibility and control to send Tweets to a smaller group. Anyone on Twitter can be added to a circle even if they are not a follower. Once they are in the circle, they will be able to see Tweet and reply is shared in that circle. The administrator has the flexibility to modify the circle whenever he or she wants. People will not be notified when they are removed from the circle. Right now, Twitter only allows you to have one Twitter circle.

To create a Twitter circle, follow these steps:

  • Open Twitter and go to the tweet compose box. For those who are using the app for the first time after the release of this update, the app will ask you if you want to share your tweet with a smaller crowd. Pressing yes will show you a dialog box explaining how the feature works.
  • In the tweet composition box, you’ll see a drop-down box that allows you to select the audience for your tweet. Choose the public if you don’t want to limit your viewers for that tweet and post it regularly, or choose the Twitter circle in case you want a more closed group of viewers.
  • You will find an edit button next to the Twitter Circle. Tap on it and select members to add or remove from your circle.
