Twitter employees will be notified by email by 9 a.m. PT Friday if they will be laid off, according to a communication sent to all Twitter employees Thursday evening. This was the first communication among all employees since Elon Musk closed his control of the social network a week ago.
In an unsigned email, Twitter wrote: “In an effort to put Twitter on a healthy path, we will go through the difficult process of reducing our global workforce on Friday. We recognize that this will affect a number of individuals who have made valuable contributions to Twitter, but this action is unfortunately necessary to ensure the company’s success moving forward.”
