Christmas is now just 100 days away, which means if you don’t have your holiday marketing plan in place yet, it’s time to get it down to make sure you’re maximizing the season’s opportunities for best effect.
And there is a range of dates and events to plan, as described by Twitter, which has launched a updated vacation planning guide to help brands design their tweet marketing strategy.
As Twitter notes, some of the key dates to prepare for include:
- Thanksgiving (November 24)
- Black Friday (November 25)
- US Small Business Saturday (November 26)
- Internet Monday (November 28)
- Donation Tuesday (November 29)
- UK Small Business Saturday (December 3)
- Green Monday (December 13)
- Hanukkah (December 18-26)
- Christmas Eve and Day (December 24-25)
- New Year’s Eve (December 31)
Twitter says that Tweet discussion around the holidays saw a huge increase last year, which presents a huge opportunity to capitalize on connected conversation this time around.
Of course, some of this increase will be attributed to the easing of lockdowns for COVID last year, with many unable to celebrate Christmas with family and friends in 2020. But even so, trends show that the discussion is increasing, which could present new opportunities to connect with trends and increase your promotions.
And it has already begun:
Twitter’s holiday marketing hub includes a variety trend knowledge like these, along with case studies, links to Twitter Marketing Webinarsand more.
It can be a valuable companion in our holiday planning, while Twitter also provided an overview of key hashtags to consider for Christmas 2022.
“In the UK, the top hashtags during Christmas 2021 were #Christmas, #Win, #Giveaway, #Xmas, #Competition, #MerryChristmas, #Gift, #ChristmasIsComing – use these as guidelines for hashtags likely to be popular again in 2022 You can also expect to see lots of #GiftIdeas, #HolidayShopping, #HappyHolidays and #ChristmasDecor.”
So, as usual, the giveaways are popular. Plan a giveaway with the right hashtags and that can be the key to getting attention, especially early in the process.
