Twitter is one of the most common platforms to briefly express your thoughts and opinions. Twitter gives you the power to reach a large global audience in no time. Everyone can see your tweets and posts, unless you choose to limit the reach of your tweets to just your followers. So if you don’t want a global audience and just want to focus on your own followers, then that’s easily done too. Yes, you can protect your tweets and only allow followers to see them. When you sign up for Twitter, your tweets are public by default, which means that anyone can view and interact with your tweets. But there are options to protect your Tweets, you can do this through your account settings.
According to information provided by Twitter, if you protect your tweets, you will receive a request when new people want to follow you, which you can approve or decline. Also, you should note that accounts that started following you before you protected your tweets will still be able to view and interact with your protected tweets unless you block them. In addition, your tweets, including permalinks to your tweets, will only be visible to your followers.
Also, your followers will not be able to use the Retweet icon to retweet or retweet with comment. You should also know that protected tweets do not show up in third-party search engines (like Google search) either. Finally, your protected tweets will be searchable on Twitter only by you and your followers.

Go to the settings option in your Twitter account.
Go to privacy and security.
Click on Audience and tagging.
You will find an option that says “Protect your Tweets”. You will have to check the checkbox present next to the option.
You can also control who can tag you in the photo by clicking on the photo tagging option available just below the “Protect your tweets” option.
From there you can choose one of the options which is “Anyone can tag you” or “Only people you follow can tag you”.
