Through ‘Tips’, users can send cash payments to their favorite content creators on the microblogging platform or small business owners.
With Paytm Payment Services in partnership with ‘Tips’, users will also be able to use a range of payment services offered by Paytm, including its Paytm Digital Wallet, Paytm Postpaid (buy-now-pay-later service) , debit and credit cards. and net banking, he said.
ET had first reported in May last year that Twitter was experimenting with the Tips feature in India and had partnered with Bengaluru-based payments company Razorpay as its first partner. ET had also reported that Twitter was not expected to charge users for the service and was looking to partner with more payment processors in India.
The tips are available from November to all Twitter users above 18 years of age in India on iOS and Android platforms. It is available in Indian languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil.
The partnership will support the creator community with monetization capabilities through the payment solutions offered by Paytm’s gateway, said Praveen Sharma, chief executive officer at Paytm Payments Services.
