Twitter’s Blue Subscription Disappears From The App After Users Abuse The Feature / Digital Information World

A new day means a new kind of drama taking center stage in the Twitter world.

Today, many were shocked to see that the Blue Twitter Subscription disappeared from the platform. The company says the decision was made in light of the large amount of abuse that surfaced where copycats were running at an all-time high.

They also confirmed that the feature has not been cancelled, but has been temporarily discontinued after seeing user responses to the offer submission.

Twitter says that major brands and celebrities were being imitated, and things were certainly getting a little chaotic. The service first launched earlier this week on the iPhone app.

This meant that users were allowed to purchase verification tokens that were being taught to display accounts as verified or official. Meanwhile, on Friday, the feature suddenly disappeared and there was no such option to allow users to sign up for the app’s subscription. Moreover, the quick suspension of this service is further hinting that Elon Musk’s massive plans to make more revenue through users are not working.

After the introduction of the paid subscription feature, we saw so many pranksters making fraudulent accounts on the app. And this is what made the app much more vulnerable to disinformation attacks.

People bought control tokens at low cost and pretended to be someone else, such as a celebrity, politician and more. And the posts or content that was put up was definitely not unpleasant.

A current employee working on the platform mentioned how the firm decided to withdraw from the entire verification process, thanks to the rise of impersonators.

An employee currently working at the firm says there was an account claiming to be the famous pharmaceutical giant called Eli Lilly. And that’s when he caused massive trouble when he tweeted that insulin would be available for free.

This particular post stayed on the app for a while until people figured it was time to quickly remove it. Afterwards, they even apologized, calling the incident unfortunate and misleading for obvious reasons. But before the firm knew it, the stock price had fallen massively after this fake post went viral.

The news is of great concern to people like advertisers who see this as a hindrance and hence are now taking drastic steps to stop spending in this direction. On the other hand, some users who have paid for the Twitter Blue service say that the blue ticks have mysteriously disappeared.
