Redemption Concert

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. Wednesday, May 15, 2024 — Each year, artists whose messages are most needed are chosen to deliver them at Redemption – Trinidad and Tobago’s brand of concerts that has stood strong for positive entertainment for the past nine years. On June 1, many things will be the same as Sizzla Kalonji headlines the concert with messages of peace, unity and positive vibes above all else. Redemption takes place at Queen’s Park Savannah, just in time for the long holiday weekend.

The organizers, Tropix Entertainment, Java Nation and Johnny Q Limited, have made a huge commitment to introduce the people of T&T to a high level of entertainment such as Steel Pulse, Collie Buddz, Christopher Martin, SuperCat, Jamelody and z . The king came on stage, alongside Kalonji.

This year’s concert follows a show in 2023, which was performed by Buju Banton. “Reggae music is powerful and determined in its affirmations of positivity,” said Java Nation’s Ian Pantin. The team’s unwavering drive to restore Trinidad and Tobago to a land of peace comes from a place of personal compassion for the country. “It cannot be denied that the moral compass of society has changed somewhat and we see this in the news headlines every day. As partners in the entertainment business, we believe it is our social responsibility to guide our people on a more positive path,” Pantin said.

Each year, the tone for the show is set in the selected artists. Over the years, Tarrus Riley, Anthony B, Jah Cure, Sanchez, Luciano, Glen Washington, Beres Hammond, Morgan Heritage and countless others have brought a variation of sweet reggae music. This year, the addition of Super Cat is expected to add momentum – the artiste known for dancehall hits such as, ‘Dolly My Baby’, ‘GirlsTown’, ‘Cry Fuh De Youth’, ‘My Girl Josephine’ and many more others.

Patrons, confident in the Redemption brand, have already expressed their excitement for ‘The Way Forward’, showing their loyal support for the concert which has certainly stood the test of time. “We are truly pleased and humbled by the support shown to Redemption over the years – from customers and sponsors who we consider partners. Executing a show of this magnitude every year is not easy or simple. We work with dedication behind the scenes, trying our best to accommodate each partner while presenting live entertainment that is purposeful and enjoyable. It’s never easy,” Pantin said.
Together with the team, Pantin says every year, the views of the customers are taken into consideration and efforts are made to return a year later, with a show that is better than the one experienced before. This year, one lucky customer will be the winner of a signature gold and ruby-plated Redemption pendant valued at approximately TTD $20,000.

Redemption will provide general admission, VIP all-inclusive and VVIP Premium all-inclusive customer experiences. On Redemption’s social media platforms, customers are constantly updated on the ongoing Redemption Roadshow, where tickets and other prizes are given away every weekend. “Thanks to our kind sponsors, we have been meeting and greeting people all over Trinidad and Tobago every weekend at the Roadshow. It has been a wonderful experience and we have had many winners so far. We want to thank everyone for the great sports and encourage reggae music fans to be a part of Redemption – The Way Forward on June 1st. It’s an experience we proudly encourage people to share,” Pantin said.
