USA unveil squad for home T20I series against Nepal; pacer Ali Khan returns

of United States The cricket team has revealed its roster for the upcoming T20I series against Nepalscheduled to begin Oct. 18 at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. The squad selection reflects a mix of returning stars and fresh faces, with some significant changes as the team prepares to hit the ground running.

Steven Taylor and Nitish Kumar were left out of the squad

Former captain Steven Taylor has been dropped from the squad for the T20I series against Nepal. The 31-year-old has had a challenging spell, facing a dip in form throughout the World Cup and the recent ODI series against Netherlands. Taylor, who was included in the T20I squad for the Netherlands matches, was dropped after picking up an injury during the previous 50-over matches. His absence from this series highlights the lingering concerns about his form and fitness.

Nitish Kumar He has also been left out, marking another significant change to the team. The former Canadian skipper, who switched to represent the USA earlier this year, has struggled to find consistency, averaging just 13 in his last seven games since the World Cup. Despite a promising start with a remarkable 27-run knock against India, Kumar’s slump in form led to his exclusion from the team for the next few matches.

Ali Khan returns to strengthen the bowling line-up

USA’s pace attack will be bolstered by the return of Ali Khan. The 33-year-old speedster will return to the USA squad for the first time since the World Cup after missing the Netherlands tour and sitting out the CPL season with a foot injury. His return is expected to add much-needed depth and experience to the USA bowling unit as they take on Nepal.
