Utah State’s Stephen Kotsanlee One of Eight Punters Named to Ray’s 8 for Week Two

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State freshman Stephen Kotsanlee was named to the Ray Guy “Ray’s 8” award list after the second week of the season, it was announced Monday.

The “Ray’s 8” list recognizes eight collegiate players each week. From the group of eight, fans determine which player should be named Player of the Week by voting on the Ray Guy Award website. The Punter of the Week award will be announced on Tuesday.

Kotsanlee punted seven times for 320 yards (45.7 ypp) against Weber State last weekend, including three punts of at least 50 yards (51, 51, 58). The Melbourne, Australia, native also had five career punts inside the 20-yard line.

On the season, Kotsanlee currently leads the Mountain West in touchdowns (22) and yards (944), is tied for first in most touchdowns in a game (10) and ranks third in punting average (42.91).

Utah State has a bye this week, but returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 24, when the Aggies (1-2) open Mountain West play hosting UNLV (1-1) at Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM and will be televised on the CBS Sports Network.
