Athletes, national governing bodies and members of the cultural fraternity continue to be housed at the Hasely Crawford Stadium and the Jean Pierre Complex until the end of the 2023 Carnival.

Both the Hasely Crawford Stadium and the Jean Pierre Complex in Mucurapo have been popular venues for hosting carnival events.

The announcement states that many sports venues will be upgraded in the coming months.

“Construction works are planned to take place in many sports facilities throughout the country. Works are progressing at Dwight Yorke Stadium, the procurement process is well underway for Ato Boldon Stadium, the scope of works is being confirmed for Manny Ramjohn and Larry Gomes Stadium, and Skinner Park is scheduled for completion and delivery before the end of January.”

TT will host the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games from August 4-11. Attention will be paid to Hasely Crawford Stadium for the matches.

The announcement states that construction work will “intensify at the end of February”. The carnival ends on February 21 this year.

“Health, safety and security remain the highest priority to protect all users of the facilities. Stakeholders must agree to comply with all health and safety requirements and protocols, which may result in increased costs and logistical challenges for some organizers.

On January 17, a meeting will be held with sports and cultural actors to further finalize plans until the end of Carnival 2023.
