Johnny Hajjar in the National Assembly • NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

After several interventions by SP deputy Johnny Hajjar, a parliamentary investigative commission on the high cost of living should see the light of day and “an Oudinot” should be organized for November 15.

The MP of the Socialist Party of Martinique, Johnny Hajjar, who was the relator for the Foreign budget during its review, before the government started 49-3, wanted to create a parliamentary commission of inquiry into the cost of living in foreign territories.

Its mission would be “to identify, in full transparency, the structural reasons for the high cost of living”. His proposals to improve purchasing power (increasing and expanding the visibility of the quality and price shield, regulating bank charges, introducing 0% VAT, developing domestic production, a zero-fee system for SMEs/ SMEs for 5 years) should find an echo during the Oudinot of the expensive life promised by the Delegate Minister for Foreign Territories, Jean-François Carenco.

The latter announced at the hearing in the laws commission that this meeting was already scheduled for November 15. “Everything will be related to the commitments of local actors under the auspices of the prefects of each district”, explained the minister’s delegate on October 20.

This meeting was to take place on Oudinot Street, the headquarters of the Secretariat of State for Abroad, hence its name.
