Yvonne Bezerra de Mello presents us, in her new book, a woman who, after turning her life upside down, is led to rethink principles, save relationships and rebuild herself.
“The elite always play with the power of hypocrisy”
(talks about one of the characters in “Maddies”)
One of the meanings of whirlwind is to destroy violently. Another is to swallow, in the sense of getting something out of place or out of the lead. Both meanings apply to Regina, a woman who sheltered herself in an unsatisfying marriage and the relentless routine of her job. Regina is like many women, (almost) invisible because of the apathetic life they lead. Until the discovery of her husband’s homosexuality shakes their marriage. Her life is turned upside down as it forces her to rethink (pre)conceptions, old dogmas and – most importantly – save Regina lost in the turmoil of time. Regina is the main character of Vorage – The eddies of lifenew book by the educator and writer Yvonne Bezerra de Mello🇧🇷 In the work, the author questions conversions and raises discussions about the necessary changes in behavior and thinking. The book is the foreword by the teacher and the musician Regina L. de Sáhas the fourth cover signed by the professor Carlos Eduardo Nunes-Ferreirafrom UFRJ, and brings, in the ear, a text from Luciana Campos Ramos Martha, president of Projeto Uerê, created by Yvonne in Complexo da Maré. Voragem arrives in bookstores in November for rod.
Regina and her brother, Claudio, were still children when they lost their mother, whose childcare was the mainstay of an outside marriage. Regina spent her life seeking her father’s love, warm with her friends but harsh in private. She and her brother grow estranged due to several disagreements, the biggest being his choice of religion. This woman lives on the threshold between a dark reality and a fictional world, populated by sharks and a faceless man. The shock of reality received by her husband’s sexual orientation brings with it the discovery that she herself was the main part in a game conspired by those who should respect her.
The reader is taken by the hand and guided by the character to accompany her (re)awareness and the various stages she goes through, which include her growth and culminate in the birth of a woman who is more aware of the potentials and limitations of her. The same reader is given the opportunity to know the details of the other characters, which expose the circumstances that have made them the way they are. And these voices intertwine, composing a meticulously stitched plot into a narrative in which Manichaeism and value judgments are put to the test in a well-grounded way.
Clarice’s Macabéa has in the fortuneteller’s prediction the warning that a transformation would take place. A Regina, by Yvonne Bezerra de Mello, has in the act the breath that renews the air she thought was pure. This woman gradually collects the pieces of herself and, in doing so, becomes dazzling \ fascinating, cunning \ latent, alive and alive. Regina has everything that, like Ana Terra and Maria da Fé, perpetuates her name among the great heroines of Brazilian literature.
