WAHS hosts Halloween carnival to fundraise for Eric Betthauser scholarship

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) – A spooktacular night is underway at Western Albemarle High School, with face painting, appetizers and a Halloween-themed concert taking place on October 27th.

Kids are dressing up as goblins and ghosts to raise money for the Eric Betthauser Scholarship.

The late choir teacher passed away in 2016, and now the students are staff who are keeping his legacy alive with a scholarship in his name.

“The performing arts teachers and administration started a scholarship so that each year, one student from West will be awarded a scholarship if they plan to continue fine arts in college,” said the WAHS ceramics teacher and Art Department chair. Beautiful, Laura Chatterson.
