The moment of brilliance came in the 13th over of SLK’s innings when TKR pacer Jayden Seales delivered a length ball outside off. Charles, who was batting fluently, tried to smash the delivery over long on but delayed it, taking it off the top of the bat. The ball looked to be sailing over the boundary, but Jordan, positioned long-on, timed his flick to perfection. He grabbed the ball out of the air, denying Charles his century and securing a crucial breakthrough for TKR. Charles fell for a scintillating 89 off just 40 balls, which included seven fours and eight massive sixes.

Saint Lucia Kings total mammoth post
Despite the loss of Charles, Saint Lucia Kings posted a mammoth total of 218/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Charles was the star of the innings, providing a brilliant start, while other SLK batsmen contributed to the imposing total.
Captain of Trinbago Knight Riders Kieron Pollard also played a pivotal role, picking four crucial wickets to stem the flow of runs in the latter stages of the innings.
In reply, Trinbago Knight Riders struggled to keep pace with the lofty target. Their batting faltered against a disciplined SLK bowling attack, and they found themselves in deep trouble at 138/9 from the 18th over. The pursuit took a further hit when it was all-round Dwayne Bravowho came into bat after the ninth wicket, retired hurt after facing just two deliveries. With Bravo unable to continue and the team already nine wickets short, TKR’s innings effectively declared, handing the Saint Lucia Kings an emphatic 80-run win.
For his astonishing batting performance, Charles was named Man of the Match despite narrowly missing out on his century. His strong knock laid the foundation for SLK’s dominant win, which keeps them firmly in the running in CPL 2024.
