The visitors struggled with the bat, managing just 203, however Pakistan’s bowlers ensured the chase was anything but straightforward, pushing Australia ahead before Cummins’ composed finish.

Pakistan’s bowling unit, led by Shaheen Afridiadded pressure on the Australian line-up by bowling tight lines throughout the innings. His impressive introduction led to the decisive departure of Sean Abbott in the 30th, a highlight of the game.

Afridi’s delivery to Cummins was driven through extra cover, prompting a quick chase from Agha Salmanwho managed to keep the ball in play. Cummins and Abbott tried for a third run but Afridi’s quick shot at the striker’s end caught Abbott well short of the crease. Abbott, on 13 off 19 balls, didn’t attempt a dive, not knowing the throw was coming his way, leading to a crucial dismissal.
