Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Male after Investigation into Potential Explosive Devices

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a 38-year-old male in connection with a report of an explosive device found in Waterloo.

On October 24, 2022, shortly before 6:00 p.m., police responded to a residence on Lester Street after receiving reports of an explosive device inside the home.

Members of the Special Response Unit safely removed the possible explosive device from the scene.

As a result of the investigation, a Kitchener man was arrested and charged with two counts of explosives – Manufacture or possession for an unlawful purpose and Failure to comply with a court order to release.

The accused has been kept in police custody for a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing.
