Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have made an arrest in a robbery incident that occurred at a business in Kitchener on August 1, 2022.
At approximately 9:20 p.m., police responded to the area of South Ottawa Street and Fischer-Hallman Street for reports of a male brandishing a box cutter when confronted by a store employee after the male attempted to leave without paying for merchandise.
The male suspect fled the area and was later located by the Waterloo Regional Police Service canine unit.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with the following crimes:
- Robbery
- Possession of stolen goods under $5,000
- Two counts of possession of stolen credit cards
- Possession of suspected fentanyl
The man was taken into police custody for a bail hearing.
