“This year has been the biggest year of community groups taking part in our workshops, for the last three months we’ve had carnival workshops from Divis to the Colin area, it’s been great.”

The day saw a wide range of organizations distributing colors on the streets. Among them was the Donate4Dáithí campaign with a sea of pink, raising awareness of Organ Donation.

Father of the Dáíth, Máirtín Mac Gabhann spoke to the Andersonstown News about the ongoing campaign around organ donation and his gratitude to the Féile.

”We are absolutely delighted to be joining the carnival parade during the Féile. It is even more special because it is the first Festival since the passing of Dáithí’s law.

“Although the law has been passed, it would be good to continue this moment, because even though the law has been passed, we still need people to support organ donation and people to support the campaign.”

“We are thrilled and delighted that the Féile have once again supported us in giving people the opportunity to talk about organ donation.”

The parade started from Dunville Park and was followed by a park party at Spórtlann Na hÉireann. Activities included inflatables, face painting, games and some popular superhero characters. The Voice UK 2020 finalist Brooke Scullion performed live on the day.

Mayor of Belfast Cllr Tina Black praised the event and Féile organizers saying it was a great day.
