The City of West Hollywood Recreation Services Division is hosting its annual free Youth Halloween Carnival today, Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Plummer Park’s Vista Lawn , located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard.
Last year’s Youth Halloween Carnival was well attended with plenty to do and this year promises to bring back the fun. Highlights will include games, a train without tracks, a pumpkin patch and a haunted maze. Entertainment includes music, dancing, costume displays and entertainment from community groups. Children are welcome to show off their Halloween costumes to enter the raffle. For a good fur-raising time, pets are also invited to show off their best “Howl-O-Ween” (following Plummer Park rules to always stay on a leash). Attendees are encouraged to drive or walk, as parking at Plummer Park is limited.
The city canceled this year’s Halloween Carnival for adults and does not recommend the event take place next year. With the WeHo Carnaval canceled this year, businesses in WeHo’s Rainbow District will try to continue the celebration by hosting special events.
Bars, nightclubs, restaurants and hotels are encouraged to organize and produce small-scale events. The City of West Hollywood recently approved a waiver of the special events permit and related fees for city businesses that host events on October 28, 29, 30 or 31 in celebration of Halloween. Interested business may submit a special event permit application by Monday, October 24, 2022, for activations that do not require temporary structural review. For those special event permit applications requiring temporary structural review, applications must be submitted by Friday, October 21, 2022. For details, please contact the City’s Neighborhood and Business Safety Division at [email protected] or by called (323) 848- 6437.
