Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica participated in the inaugural edition of the 1973 Women’s World Cup held in England between 20 June and 28 July.
Trinidad and Tobago, led by Louise Browne, won against Jamaica and Young England to finish 5th in the points table.
Jamaica, coached by Yolande Geddes-Halt, had their only win over Young England to sit sixth in the table.
England Women, led by Rachel Heyhoe-Flint, won the title after finishing the round-robin tournament with five wins and one loss.
Jamaica’s Vivalyn Latty-Scott (168) had the 5th highest run tally in the tournament, with Louise Browne (150) in seventh place.
Trinidad and Tobago’s Nora St Rose (8) had the fifth-highest wickets in the tournament.
