The long Thanksgiving weekend is finally upon us in all its holiday, family, and pumpkin-filled glory.
And for those staying around town, there will be no shortage of things to do across Toronto in the coming days (and road closures, but that’s another story).
Here’s what’s happening in Toronto this long Thanksgiving weekend.
Lizzo It takes place on stage at Scotiabank Arena
Kick off the long weekend on an energetic note at Lizzo’s concert tonight. The multiple Grammy Award-winning artist will take the stage at Scotiabank Arena as part of her famous Special Tour – her first world tour in three years. Multi-platinum rapper Latto will join Lizzo on stage for what is sure to be an unforgettable performance. Find more information here.
Toronto Pumpkinfest Take over Downsview Park
Toronto Pumpkinfest returns to transform Downsview Park into a fall-themed wonderland full of attractions for the whole family. Fall Latin Fiesta 2022 Hit Yonge-Dundas Square
Celebrate all things Latin this Sunday (Oct. 9) as the third annual Fall Latin Fiesta takes over Yonge-Dundas Square. Showcasing Latin American culture from over 20 countries, the lively (and free!) festival will feature music, live performances, food, art, handmade crafts, traditional games and even a parade. Find more information here.
Legends of Horror Transforms Casa Loma
Those looking to get into the spooky spirit should hit up Legends of Horror at Casa Loma. The annual event takes over the grounds of the famous castle, offering an immersive theatrical interpretation of classic horror characters and terrifying installations. The 2km nature walking trail starts in the lower gardens and winds through dimly lit tunnels to the castle cellar and under the road, to the historic – and supposedly haunted – stables. Midway, guests can enjoy Captain Morgan’s Bar and Lounge in the castle’s glass pavilion. Find more information here.
Singing in the rain Make a splash at the Princess of Wales Theatre
Check out the splashy (literally) musical. Singing in the rain. The feel-good production checks all the boxes when it comes to an unforgettable musical: songs that audiences know and love, captivating performances and captivating ensembles. Notably, the performance features over 14,000 liters of recycled water each performance – and those sitting in the front row are likely to get wet. Find more information here.
The Toronto Chocolate Festival hosts a chocolate-filled afternoon tea
Those who prefer chocolate over pumpkin spice will find everything they want at the Toronto Chocolate Festival. As part of the celebrations, the OMNI King Edward Hotel will host an afternoon tea on Saturday and Sunday, complete with chocolates and chocolate baked goods. Find more information here.
FALL n Leaves Appear Take Bathurst and Richmond
Taking over the southwest corner of Bathurst and Richmond, the Fall n Leaves Pop Up invites guests to get into the spirit of the season with straws, pumpkins and fall-inspired food and drink. Here, guests can expect a wood-burning barbecue pit and wood-burning oven, and there’s no shortage of comforting pastas, pizzas and soups served in squash or pumpkins. The family-friendly event will also feature a wine bar and pumpkin patch. Find more information here.
